The Pillars of the Earth is a captivating, interactive retelling of the famous novel by Ken Follett. Explore the village of Kingsbridge in a whole new way as you play and make decisions as Jack, Aliena, and Philip. This interactive novel is divided into three "books," with seven chapters in each.

Set in 12th century England, the game takes you on a journey of poverty, war, and the quest for wealth and security. The small town of Kingsbridge embarks on the construction of a cathedral, and the lives and destinies of its inhabitants become intertwined. As Philip becomes the prior of the small abbey of Kingsbridge, Jack learns stonemasonry from his outlawed mother and rises to become a talented master builder. Together with the disgraced noblewoman Aliena, they undertake the construction of one of England's greatest cathedrals.

In this game, you can change the events from the source novel and impact the fates of the characters. You'll follow an epic tale of war, conspiracies, and romance over a period of more than three decades. With three different playable characters - Jack the outsider, Aliena the noblewoman, and Philip the monk - you'll experience the story from unique perspectives.

The game's stunning visuals come to life with over 200 hand-painted backgrounds, while the unique 2D animation style keeps you engaged every step of the way. In addition, the FILMharmonic Orchestra, Prague, contributes to the immersive experience through its orchestral soundtrack.

Last but not least, the game features a special appearance by Ken Follett himself, the author of the novel. As the voice of the Cantor, he will guide you through this immersive and interactive journey.
