In this game, the lands where the humans, elves, and dwarves live are constantly under attack by hideous creatures that have emerged from the earth. These creatures, dubbed the “Evils of the Earth-depths," commit terrible atrocities. One day, during an attack on the Granzalk Castle by the Evils, Ryle finds himself in the castle's underground chambers. There, he discovers a golem built to oppose the Evils, and the quest to save the kingdom begins.
