The story of Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- is one of the gods creating mankind and mankind creating their own stories. Marda, the primordial creator, created the land of Mardias, where a great battle once took place. Elore, the king of the gods, fought three malicious deities: Death, Saruin, and Schirach. After a long and difficult struggle, Death and Schirach were sealed away and rendered powerless, and the final deity, Saruin, was trapped through the power of the Fatestones and a hero's noble sacrifice.

Now, 1000 years have passed since this monumental battle. The Fatestones lie scattered across the world, and the gods of evil have begun to resurge. Eight heroes set off on their own journeys, as if guided by the hand of fate. It's up to you to decide what tales these adventurers will weave across the vast tapestry of Mardias.

New elements in the game include a full HD graphical upgrade and various features that expand the gameplay even further. Aldora, the sorceress who traveled with the legendary hero Mirsa, can now be recruited. Experience new events where she recounts the journeys of Mirsa first hand. Unique and interesting characters, such as Schiele, Marina, Monica, and Flammar, are now playable and enhance the game even more. Several bosses now appear as super powerful enhanced versions, with a new arrangement of the battle music score.

Improved playability is also a major feature in this remastered edition. Various new features have been added to make your gameplay experience even more convenient, such as a high speed mode, mini maps, and a “New Game +” option that lets you carry over your progress when you play through the game again. Additionally, new classes have been introduced to expand the breadth of gameplay, making this a game not to be missed for all RPG fans.
