Reigns: The Witcher is a swipe card adventure set in the Witcher universe. Play through Dandelion’s ballads of Geralt's battles, making fast choices that can lead to death or hilarious end.
For whom:
- fans of the Witcher series and who miss Geralt of Rivia
- people who love choice games where every decision immportant
- those like short, roguelike games
- who like Reigns mechanics
Who should skip:
- if you don’t know your Witcher lore, expect to miss a ton of jokes and references
- fans of classic PC games or Gwent
- gamers who prefer long, rich story campaigns
Genre: choice-based games
Similar to: Reigns, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales
Platforms: iOS, Android, PC
Difficulty: easy to start; moderate
Beginner friendly: yes, but gets intense quickly (Reigns mechanics)
Learning curve: short
Game length / replayability: short sessions but a lot of possible endings
Monetization model: paid, but buy once and you will get the full game
Performance & bugs: runs stable
Gameplay
I found for myself that Reigns: The Witcher is a really fun game with strategic and humorous gameplay. Play as Geralt, swiping cards left or right to make decisions: monster contracts in puzzle game battle, political disputes, finding the murderer, or choosing between Yennefer and Triss. To be honest, I’m the kind of person who choosen Yennefer. Every decision moves four stats with favor points: non-humans, humans, mages, and Witcher contracts. If any of them gets too close to full or empty, Geralt may die in a darkly humorous way. After each run, you get a score. Points are calculated with reference to days and specific objectives. I really get fun to looking new ways to die.
Graphics and Sound
Amazing Reigns minimalistic art featuring familiar Witcher characters. The same sound effects, Novigrad or tavern music, and overall audio make you feel like you’re back in an adventure with Geralt in The Witcher 3
