The backbone of your adventure is your bond with Monsties, which you can recruit infinitely. Journey through vast environments and dungeons to locate monster dens and retrieve eggs to hatch new Monsties. The smartphone version features enhanced graphics, an improved user interface, and an auto-save feature.

The story begins with three friends who find a shiny egg near the Riders village. They pretend to perform the Rite of Kinship and are surprised when it actually works. To their amazement, a baby Rathalos, the King of the Skies, emerges from the egg. The trio names him Ratha and takes him back to their village, only to be attacked by a monster infected by the Black Blight that leaves a lasting mark on their hearts.

A year passes. The hero receives a Kinship Stone from the Village Chief and begins a new adventure with Navirou after being separated from childhood friends Cheval and Lilia, deemed Riders themselves. Today, a narrative of friendship and success awaits you. Welcome to the world of Monster Hunter Stories.

Before starting the app, read the "Monster Hunter Stories End User License Agreement." Certain collaboration contents, amiibo features, local Network Battles, and StreetPass may not be available in this version, and the stored save data will delete when you uninstall this app. Users may only download this app using Wi-Fi connections. Additionally, Battle Party QR codes from the Japanese version are not supported in this edition, and the network battle function is inapplicable since March 31, 2020.
