As a Detective, to help solve your cases you can:
* Travel to locations of interest
* Question witnesses
* Find clues and collect evidence
* Use forensics on evidence to build your case
* Study a suspects finances for any strange behaviour
* Build a timeline of the event
* Interrogate the suspects and prove them wrong and decide if they are lying or telling the truth.
* With enough evidence you can charge and arrest your prime suspect.
