THE LAST BLADE, released in 1997 by SNK, is a fight game that is set in Japan's Edo period with unique swordsmen characters to choose from. Although similar thematically to the "SAMURAI SHODOWN" series, it distinguishes itself with innovative features, such as the option to choose between a "Power" or "Speed" style when picking a character. The "Power" system prioritizes high damage, whereas the "Speed" system emphasizes complex combos and speed. In addition, a unique "Hajiki" ability allows players to deflect attacks effectively.
