This game is a prototype for Fall Game Competition 2021 “Sea Pups – The Pirate Maze” is a casual arcade, top-down action-adventure game with RPG and roguelike elements.
The player will take control of a pirate ship and a team of funny pirate dogs on the way to treasures. The player will need to turn the steering wheel with his finger so that the ship sails and turns, and the cannons will automatically fire at the enemy, located on the sides.
The player will have to go through levels, each of which is a set of arenas with battles and traps. Each sector will have between 10 and 25 levels, with a Boss at the end of the sector. If the player dies, he must start the path at this level from the beginning. Each sector will have different styles, it can be a whirlpool zone, with a boss - the Kraken. Or “Waters of the Undead” in azure-green tones and with the boss - the Flying Dutchman. Inside the level, the player gains experience, which he will spend on improving the ship.
After defeating the boss, all the treasures obtained can be returned to the base - Pirate Bay. Gold can be spent on various improvements to the pirate base. Permanent improvements? The opening of new ships, sails and captains? Special abilities? All this can be obtained by improving your base!
The hyper-casual game loop is - swim, dodge and turn the right side; the ship will do the rest! And return to base with victory and gold!
