Mystical Nusantara

Players take control of legendary heroes from Indonesian folklore and mythology, each with their own unique abilities and playstyles. The game is divided into 4 main levels, with each level focusing on a different legendary character.



Level 1 stars the mighty Gatotkaca, renowned for his superhuman strength and ability to fly. In this level, players battle their way through a sprawling forest filled with Kurawa and giants. Gatotkaca's main attack is a powerful punch that obliterates enemies. He can also take to the skies to avoid hazards and reach previously inaccessible areas. The level culminates in an epic showdown with the Kurawa warrior Aswatama, who rains down lightning attacks from above. Players must exploit Gatotkaca's aerial mobility and mighty fists to triumph.



Level 2 brings the legendary archer Arjuna into the fray. Taking place in a majestic ancient kingdom, this level arms players with Arjuna's bow and magical shield. Arjuna can snipe enemies from afar with pinpoint accuracy and raise his shield to block incoming damage. The battlefield is filled with Kurawa spear-wielding soldiers and hulking giants. In the climactic battle, Arjuna must face his rival Karna and his legendary bow, the Vasavi Shakti. Using Arjuna's agility and skill with the bow, players must outmaneuver Karna.



Bhima and his massive club take center stage in Level 3, situated in a secluded valley beset by restless spirits. Bhima wields overwhelming strength, dishing out devastating area-of-effect club strikes. The stage concludes with a confrontation against a mythical flying serpent. Bhima must time his enhancements carefully to withstand the serpent's fire breaths and bring it down with crushing blows.



The final level introduces the mischievous monkey god Hanoman. Taking place in a sprawling desert, Hanoman does battle with Rahtwana's forces using his staff and shape-shifting powers. He can morph into a giant gorilla temporarily, gaining super speed and strenght. Players will have to use Hanoman's agility and transformations strategically to overcome fiendish demons and Kurawa arrow volleys. The endgame battle is with the demon king Rahwana himself. Rahwana unleashes all his tricks, from detaching his heads to spinning attacks. Hanoman must use his whole arsenal to put an end to Rahwana's reign.



At its core, Mystical Nusantara delivers a fun, fast-paced brawler/platformer. But it packages this solid gameplay into a lovingly-realized world pulling from oft-overlooked mythology. Players familiar with the legends will delight at seeing these larger-than-life figures portrayed faithfully. Those unfamiliar will discover an exciting new universe of adventure and learn about a mythology rarely spotlighted in games. Mystical Nusantara offers an engrossing journey that satisfies on gameplay and narrative fronts alike. It expands representation of Indonesian cultures in gaming while retaining a mainstream action-adventure appeal.
