Lance Aloft is a single-screen, survival challenge game of aerial jousting.
The controls are two buttons - the left half of your screen and the right half.
Touch either side to turn that direction, hold down to run or glide that direction, release the hold to flap upwards. To climb and move together, hold the screen you want to fly towards and quickly tap the other side. To drop, either let go of both sides (which gives a final flap) or hold down both sides (which delays that last flap until you let go).
Collisions between knights are classical; if you're higher, you poof the target. If you're lower, you get hurt. Collisions with phoenixes and phoenix riders are the reverse - attack them from below. Finally, with flame lancers, you must be above and behind them.

The enemy spawners will create more enemies and tougher ones the more enemies you defeat, up to one enemy per spawner per five seconds once your score is really high.
