WHAT IS THE SCIENCE AND ART CENTER (BİLSEM)?

Science and Art Centers are not an educational institution alternative to formal schools, but an educational institution that supports formal education institutions.

WHICH CLASSES ARE THE SCIENCE AND ART CENTER TAKING STUDENTS?
It is determined by the Ministry every year from which grade levels students will be admitted to the Science and Art Center. In line with the decision of the Ministry, diagnosis was made from primary and secondary school grades in 2016-2017.

Bilsem - Trainings at Science and Art Centers
Students starting to the Science and Art Center are admitted to a 5-stage education program. All programs are student-centered by teachers, individualized to develop students' creativity, different approaches and solutions to problems, and prepare them for adulthood conditions.

Five-Stage Training Program
1-Orientation Program:
Students and their parents who are new to BİLSEM are enrolled in an integration program that does not exceed 40 lesson hours and two months. Adaptation program is the stage where everyone, parents, teachers and students try to understand each other and to create a common language.

2- Support Training Program:
In the support education program, students can use communication skills, group work techniques, learning skills, problem solving techniques, scientific research techniques, entrepreneurship, critical thinking, creative thinking, decision making, and using resources effectively; They are trained in science, mathematics, Turkish, social sciences, foreign language, information technologies, technology and design, visual arts, music and similar fields.

3- Individual Skills Awareness Program:
The main purpose of this program is to introduce all disciplines that are likely to be gifted to the student, who come to BİLSEM with an abstract and general mental talent diagnosis. In this program, activities are planned and implemented to observe the student's discipline, learning speed, curiosity, in-depth knowledge in the field, and attempts to find solutions by bringing problems in life processes to the field. At the end of the applied program, the findings obtained from the students are evaluated in the Teachers Board and the special talent and / or areas of each student are determined.

4- Special Skills Development Program:
In this program, the special area where the talent of the student, who comes to BİLSEM with an abstract and general mental ability, turns into performance, has now been determined. As a result of the previous programs, it is aimed to gain in-depth or advanced knowledge, skills and behavior in maximum 2 science or arts fields where the student is determined to be talented.

5-Project Production / Management Program:
In this program, students are divided into project groups according to their interests, abilities and preferences, and projects are prepared for interdisciplinary work and synthesis of different skills by working on the project of their choice. It is based on the students to work in line with the projects they will choose, under the guidance of counselor teachers, the solution applications they develop and to learn during this process.
