Description:

The ZhiZhu! - The Spider™ is the New, Modern and more Challenging twist of the Ancient and classical game known as "Nine Men Morris".



Game Content:

1 Spiderweb board, 9 white Spiders and 9 black Spiders.



START: Player A starts with 9 White Spiders and Player B with 9 Black Spiders and the board starts empty.



GOAL: The goal of the game is to capture Spiders from your opponent's Spiders that have been placed on the board.



How to Capture Spiders from Your Opponent?

You capture Opponent Spiders placed on the board by making ALIGNED CHAINS OF SPIDERS:

SMALL CHAIN: 3 SPIDERS ALIGNED on any one of the 8 STRAIGHT LINES.

BIG CHAIN : 5 SPIDERS ALIGNED on any one of the 3 CIRCLES.



PLAYING THE GAME: There are TWO PHASES in this game:

PHASE 1 – Placement:

Taking turns, each player places their 9 SPIDERS, ONE SPIDER at a time, on any of the 24 vacant locations on the Spiderweb.

CHAINS (Small or Big) can be made during this phase which will result in SPIDERS (1 or 2) may be CAPTURED accordingly.

PHASE 2 – SLIDING Movement:

After all the SPIDERS have been placed on the board, each player takes turns SLIDING one SPIDER to an ADJACENT EMPTY location of the Spiderweb (Left, Right, Up or Down from the current spot of this SPIDER).



Capturing Pieces:

When a player has managed to make a SMALL Chain (3 ALIGNED SPIDERS), the Player immediately CAPTURES (i.e REMOVES) ONE SPIDER from the opponent's SPIDERS on the Spiderweb.

When a player has managed to make a BIG Chain (5 ALIGNED SPIDERS), the Player immediately CAPTURES (i.e REMOVES) TWO SPIDERs from the opponent's SPIDERS on the Spiderweb.



IMPORTANT NOTES:

A player CANNOT Capture ONE or TWO SPIDERS that are ALREADY part of a SMALL or BIG CHAIN, unless there are no LOOSE SPIDERS to be captured.

A player CANNOT Capture 1 or 2 SPIDERS from then Opponent's SPIDERS by REMAKING a NEW CHAIN with the SAME SPIDER(S) at the SAME locations.

A NEW CHAIN is VALID ONLY if there is at least one NEW SPIDER that HAS BEEN Slided In.



WINNING:

The player who CAPTURES 7 SPIDERS from his/her Opponent.

A player can also WIN if the opponent ‘Gives Up” since then Opponent believes that there is no way to recover and win the game.
