Panoramica del gioco
EXODUS is a dungeon crawling game using a smartphone app with a group of 8+ players, including a game master, facing challenges and battling monsters.
EXODUS is an innovative role-playing game that allows players to explore randomly generated dungeons filled with monsters and treasure by using a smartphone or tablet. This game is designed to be played on an open field of at least 10 x 10 meters with a group of at least two players. One team takes on the role of the adventurers, while the other plays as the dungeon dwellers, trying to prevent the adventurers from succeeding.
A complete game requires a minimum of eight people, with four playing as the adventurers and the rest as dungeon dwellers. Additional players can join the dungeon side later. One person from the dungeon side or an impartial game master is in charge of the EXODUS core to control the game's events using the program.
During the game, one player from the adventurers' team is selected as the leader and interacts with the game master to carry out actions. Another player from the same team is encouraged to become the "mapper" and map out the dungeon to keep the team from becoming lost.
Combat occurs when the party encounters monsters in a dungeon room or is ambushed while camping. The EXODUS program assigns a monster race for each of the dungeon dwellers based on the loaded scenario and the party's location within the dungeon. Combat rules are straightforward: each player has a set of hit points, which can be reduced by a hit in combat or by a magic spell. When a limb is hit, it becomes unusable for the remainder of the combat, and the player must heal it. Players must keep track of their hitpoints and "die" when they reach zero.
The game is initiated by the game master, who selects the scenario and defines the dungeon generation parameters based on the available area and other external factors. Then, the adventuring party moves to the center of the field, and the game master tells the party leader the room's description, contents, exits, and any obstacles present on the way.
The leader must consult with the rest of the party before deciding which direction to move, and then the game master registers their movement. In response, the game master informs the team of all events that unfold as a result of their movement, such as encountering traps, meeting monsters, etc.
