The game offers touchscreen and keyboard controls, but it's best enjoyed with a controller attached to your device. If you're using a touchscreen, tap anywhere on the left side of the screen to initiate the touch movement joystick, and to Dash, move the joystick in the direction you want to move and tap the Dash button.

DreamDasher is a free, single-player game that doesn't include ads or in-app purchases. It is a brief adventure that can typically be finished between one to two hours. It's a parkour platformer that has simple yet precise controls such as jumping, air-dashing, wall-sliding, and gravity-inversion. Dashing is a particularly crucial element in DreamDasher that lets you fly through the air and overcome any obstacles you encounter while controlling gravity. There's an out-of-the-box respawning feature that locates you instantly to a nearby point. The game comprises an extensive difficulty range, including harder modes that you can adjust further with the Difficulty Modifiers, facilitating players with different levels of expertise. Users can enjoy frequent autosaving as it enables them to start from their previous position.

Once in the game, go to the in-game menu by pressing the ESC button in the upper right corner and access the Settings Menu and the Touch Control Settings to modify touch controls. Additionally, for a smooth walkthrough, keep in mind that pressing the same key/button used for jumping advances the player through the dialog. The jump key/button gives you additional height, which is proportional to the duration the key/button is pressed, while dashing after jumping helps you reach staggering heights. Use Wall Jump to reach upward passages. To accomplish this, press the jump key/button while on the wall and simultaneously tap the joystick/key in the other direction so as not to fall off the wall. DashAttack and Gravity may only be used once between ground contacts. You will observe an orange aura around DreamDasher when DashAttack is available. Similarly, when Gravity is ready to use, orange vapor will emanate from DreamDasher. Both DashAttack and Gravity deplete after usage until another ground contact. Dash works as the primary attack when needed. In the Particles section, you can turn on or off the background particle effects to prevent lagging.

As you progress through the game and approach the end, you will encounter two types of laser attacks from Nightmare. The sweeping laser is the first one, which you can dodge by dashing through it. The second is a tracking laser that follows your moves, takes a few seconds to charge, and then discharges. You can escape this attack by concealing yourself behind objects. Finally, when searching for all the Crystals, keep an eye out for secret passages, which will appear different in Blue rooms.
