AINAR is a game for your phone, specially designed for people who find it exciting to be pricked or sometimes feel unwell because of it.
Many people experience tension and associated symptoms such as nausea or dizziness when pricked. These reactions are caused by unconscious processes that you have no direct control over.
Researchers from Tilburg University and Sanquin have developed a method that can tell from your face whether these unconscious processes are active, even before you start to experience problems yourself. This enables us to predict when you might start to feel unwell. This is possible thanks to artificial intelligence and the video function of your smartphone or tablet.
Play AINAR while in the holding area before you get stung. In the game you fly and jump over hills with your avatar. Try to jump as high and far as possible and catch insects! If the game "sees" that you are subconsciously developing symptoms of tension, it will rain or snow.
Now it's up to you to find out how to make the sun shine again! Only you can discover what works for you. You can try different strategies. If you do something that works, the game will notice that you're doing better...and that's how you can learn to overcome your tension and face the jab with courage!
