Forced Abroad, a visual novel game, takes place in autumn of 1944, in Rotterdam where a 19-year-old young man named Jan experiences daily life during the war and the hunger winter while living in a city occupied by Nazis. Initially, he is fortunate and escapes the brutal raid where thousands of young men are deported for forced labor by the National Socialists. However, everything changes for him in early January 1945. He is abducted and forced to work for the Nazis in Germany. Jan embarks on an uncertain journey that leads to the unknown. Based on genuine diary entries, Forced Abroad unveils a little-known chapter of German history as a new form of entertainment - a game. The game allows players to immerse themselves in Jan's entries, influence the storyline with their decisions, and collect memorabilia for their personal scrapbook.
