Ekapeli Maahanmuuttaja

Ekapeli Maahanmuuttaja is an educational environment specifically designed to practice basic Finnish language skills for immigrant children. The contents of the game are adjusted according to the player's language, with emphasis on the difficult sounds, differences in sound length, and vowel combinations typically found in Finnish for non-native speakers at the reading stage.

Many immigrants struggle with the Scandinavian letters Ä and Ö, the vowel Y, several vowel combinations within a syllable, as well as differences in vowel and consonant lengths. These are specially highlighted in all the contents of Ekapeli Maahanmuuttaja. Furthermore, each language version has more exercises for the sounds, syllables, and words that are particularly challenging for children from that specific language group. The customized language content is selected for each player upon creating their profile.
