Dodi is an enjoyable educational game that motivates children to learn Arabic literacy. The development of the game took into account pedagogical aspects, Gamification mechanics, and Human Computer Interaction concepts. The game fosters engagement through gamification mechanics like achievements, points, badges, bonuses, leader boards, and combos, which create a fun and challenging learning environment. Each level presents missions designed to achieve clear learning outcomes and challenges that children must accomplish. The missions are neither too easy nor too hard, ensuring children are properly challenged. The game has specific goals and objectives, including helping children pronounce letters and words correctly, analyze words into syllables and letters, understand the meaning of words and short sentences, interpret simple essays and stories, read accurately and confidently, and connect the acquired skills and knowledge to real-life situations. The game uses several methods and instructional strategies to deal with the diversity of skills, age, and learning styles of the children. These include partial methods such as alphabet, phonetics, syllable, words, sentences, and short stories/situations. Other methods like See and Say, Visual Learning, Analytical Approach, and Synthesis Approach will be added in advanced levels. The instructional strategies used in the game are Drill and Practice, Try and Error, Role-playing, and Problem Solving. By incorporating these strategies, the game delivers an effective and engaging learning experience for children.
