Build a prosperous settlement in Northland by constructing various buildings including farms, bakeries, Potteries, Mason Shops, Schools, Armories, and many more. Manage the settlers and their activities while you expand your community. Observe as they eat, sleep, walk, and chat with each other. Relationships develop, couples wed and babies are born, who later take up careers of their own. Every person has their unique attributes and career paths to follow; as they work, their skills improve, allowing new career opportunities to arise.

In Northland, you lead a group of Viking wanderers, guided by four heroes, namely Bjarni, his lover Cyra, and their accomplices, Hatchi and Sigurd. Hatchi is troubled by the invasion of his village by enemies, leading him to summon his formidable friends for assistance. With eight missions in the campaign mode and an additional eight single-standing missions, players need to navigate the game's plot intricacies carefully.

With more than 30 distinct occupational groups and up-to-date job and skill systems, players can customize menus to suit individual preferences, from novice to advanced players. The game provides an extensive tutorial that introduces players to the game's varying features, allowing them to gradually learn how the game works. With AI improvements, fog, weather effects, and ghost units, Northland delivers an immersive 3D environment.
