American Pioneer

As a pioneer, it is your calling - no, your DUTY, to explore and populate these islands. And for that you need resources. Resources you'll get from the landscape. How? By building factories on top of it, of course! That is how civilizations advance after all. A virtuous cycle of building to get more stuff and use that stuff to build some more!

So transform the natural landscape to your liking! Nature always looks more beautiful after humans get involved. Or at least, more efficient. That is how progress and industry looks! And as soon as you're running out of space to build your awesome machines of mass production, take off on your flying ship to another island and start the process all over again. Humankind!

Build your factories on top of natural landmarks and use them to get resources out of them. Civilization needs stuff to advance after all, and you'll use these resources to supply your supply chain!

And that's islands, plural. Not just one. You wouldn't want to keep all those other islands looking just like islands, would you? Of course not! They need to be industry hubs! Beacons of progress!
-Workers management
People need feeding and housing if they're to work for you. At least that. It's not like you're paying them. Actually you're giving them the huge opportunity of living in the islands that you develop and then abandon for the next one, so there's that.
