The object of the game is to combine the numbers displayed on the tiles until you reach 2048. Like Sudoku or other brain games, it also involves some addictive mathematics.

How to play:

The game starts with two tiles on the 4x4 grid.
Swipe left, right, up or down to move the tiles around. Every movement new tiles with number 2 are generated. When two equal tiles collide, they combine to a greater one that displays their sum.
Your goal is to reach 2048 before the board is filled up and no movements possible.

Some tips and tricks:

Take your time - there's no penalty for thinking your moves through after all.
Try to predict where new blocks might come in and how you could deploy them.
In order to win the brain games or number games you should always have a specific strategy. A good strategy for 2048 is to always keep your highest value tile at one of the corners. Just choose one corner and try not to move the highest tile from it. Basically, this is the most important strategy tip.
