The game is based on a verse of the book ars amatoria by the Roman author Publius Ovidius Naso, also known as Ovid. There it says: "scit bene venator, ubi retia rendat" - "The good hunter knows, where to put his nets to catch a deer".

And exactly this is the players task. He has to catch deers with nets and collect as many points as possible.

But watch out: A caught calf will cause demerits!

White deers are pretty worthwhile and red deers can return a life if a deer should have escaped your capable hands!
