Guess Colour

In human vision, color or colour is the characteristic that corresponds to the categories known as red, blue, yellow, and others. The appearance of color results from the way light (its power versus its wavelength) interacts with specialized light receptors in the eyes. According to their unique physical properties (such as light absorption, emission spectra, or reflection), color specifications and categories are assigned to objects and materials. To pinpoint color numerically, they are identified by their coordinates in a defined color space.



Since colors are perceived due to the spectral sensitivity of different types of cells in the retina, which are sensitive to different parts of the spectrum, they are quantified based on the degree to which these cells are stimulated. However, physical or physiological measures of color do not fully explain the perception of color.



The study of color is referred to as chromatics, colorimetry, or color science. It encompasses understanding the way in which the human eye and brain perceive color, the properties that give rise to color in materials, the principles behind color theory in art, and the physics governing electromagnetic radiation in the visible range, commonly recognized as light.
