Dr. Janggi is a Korean strategy board game similar to Chinese chess, played on a 9x10 board, featuring jumping cannons and long-range elephants, and available to play online.
Introducing Dr. Janggi - an enthralling strategy board game that originated from Korea and gained immense popularity. Much like Chinese chess, Janggi features a 9x10 gameboard and the starting position of pieces designated in a similar fashion. Unlike Chinese chess, however, Janggi is devoid of the 'river' that horizontally divides the board.
The game is played on a board with 9 lines stretched across it, lengthwise, and 10 lines perpendicular to it. Due to the long-range movements of elephants and jumping cannons, the game can be fast-paced, although professional players often take over 150 moves, making it slightly slower than Western chess.
