Durak: Russian card game, get rid of all cards. 21: Beat dealer to reach 21 without exceeding. War: Win all cards via battles and wars.
- Durak -
Durak, also known as "fool", is a classic Russian card game. The main aim of the game is to discard all the cards in hand, and the last player to hold cards is the loser.
To begin the game, the attacking player places a card on the table face up, and the defending player then plays card(s) from their hand to try and beat the attack card.
The attacking player's non-trump cards can be beaten by either a higher card of the same suit or a trump card, whereas trump-attacking cards can only be beaten by a higher trump card.
If the defending player fails to beat the attacking card, their turn is skipped, and gameplay moves onto the next player. However, if the defending player beats the attack card, then the attacker must draw new cards from the deck until they have the same amount of cards in hand as the defender. The defender then becomes the next attacker.
- 21 -
Blackjack or "twenty-one" is a well-known casino game played between the dealer and the player. The aim of the game is to beat the dealer by achieving one of the following:
- Getting a card total of 21 points with the first two dealt cards, without the dealer also achieving a 21.
- Having a total hand value higher than the dealer's hand without exceeding 21.
- Allowing the dealer to draw additional cards until their hand exceeds 21.
Players receive two cards, and the sum of the card values is added together to get the total value. Face cards are worth ten points, and an ace can be worth either one or eleven points. The rest of the cards are worth their numerical face value. Players have the option of requesting more cards, known as "hit", if they want to increase their total score. If the sum exceeds 21, then the player has "busted" and lost the game.
The dealer must continue to draw cards until they have at least 17 points. The player with the highest card total that doesn't exceed 21 will win the game.
- War -
War is a popular card game where the objective is to win all the cards in the deck.
Each player is dealt a stack of cards, and in each round, they simultaneously reveal the top card of their pile. The player with the card with a higher value wins the round and takes both cards, which are then placed at the bottom of their deck.
Aces are the highest value cards, and suits have no significance.
If the two cards played have the same value, then a "war" occurs. Both players must then place the next three cards face down and reveal another card face-up. The player whose face-up card has a higher value wins all the cards on the table, including the cards from the previous round. The game continues like this until one player has won all the cards.
