The Case of the Golden Idol

This detective adventure game requires a Netflix membership and features mayhem, magic, and murder. As the player, you must use your deductive skills to solve a series of gruesome murders and unravel the twisted mystery surrounding a family's cursed heirloom. The story begins in 1742 when an explorer commits a dastardly act to obtain a gold figurine imbued with supernatural powers. Decades later, his descendants become embroiled in a string of strange and related deaths, seemingly caused by the cursed treasure.

As an 18th-century detective, you'll investigate crime scenes, analyze information, and draw conclusions to identify suspects, motive, and murder weapons. Classic point-and-click gameplay invites you to observe each scene closely, examining clues to solve the murders. In each scenario, you must collect clues to piece together the plot of the sprawling story and unmask the killers. Every chapter reveals more of the gory truth behind the deaths that follow in the Golden Idol's wake.

This Netflix edition of the game includes two additional chapters, "The Spider of Lanka" and "The Lemurian Vampire." As you progress through the game, you'll expose the conspiracy surrounding the mysterious Golden Idol and those who covet it. Follow the journey of a cursed aristocratic family and a shadowy political organization as you untangle a web of villainy and deceit.
