We're contrarians, we see popular mechanics and think to ourselves "yeah, how about we do the exact opposite?". We're cool that way.

Tap the blocks! Make them go away! Just don't make them crash into each other. Or do. I don't know. I'm not your boss. Maybe you like the way they jiggle when they crash. I know I do. Not enough to make them crash on purpose but still. It's a nice crashing effect.

Split apart blocks that are stuck together. Some of them are forming shapes. Some just bigger blocks. Never mind that, they don't belong together. So just pull them apart!
