There are 28 dominos in seven different suits or series, such as 6-6, 6-5, and 6-4, and each round players draw seven dominos from a shuffled pool. The game starts with the player who draws the double 6 domino and poses first. Play proceeds in a counterclockwise direction to the right of the poser and continues with players matching or connecting their dominos to those previously played. If a player cannot make a move, they pass until someone is able to play all their tiles to win the game. A key card, a two-faced domino such as 4-3, can earn a player two points if it is the last domino played and it is also the 7th member of the suite for both suits to which it belongs. If a game is blocked, the winner is the person with the lowest count of the pips/dots on all of their remaining dominos. In the 6-Love style, the set of games is over when a player reaches a total score of 6 while at least one other player remains at a score of 0 (6-0). If every player scores at least 1 point before a player reaches 6 points, the game is said to be "bruck" or broken.
