The ruler has passed away, leading the land to rack with rebellion. An old ally from your past has come back to seize the throne. In the game "I, the Forgotten One," created by John Louis, you will dive into a text-based experience of over 450,000 words. Without any graphics or sound effects, it's up to the power of your own imagination to fuel the story forward. As the late king's eldest child and royal illegitimate kid, you were disowned and dispatched away as a youngster to fight in the remotest parts of the realm. The intention was for you to die forgotten and unknown, but you have defied the odds and turned yourself into an instrument of war. Now that the kingdom is in chaos, you have to wield your sword once again to bring back peace by any means necessary, even if it means falling deeper into despair. You can play as either a male or female and can experience the world in different ways based on your physicality. You can specialize in three separate aspects of medieval combat and select from three unique fighting styles according to your physical attributes. In this game, you will encounter an extensive cast of characters, ranging from the mother who abandoned you to your adoptive father. You will have to choose from three distinct paths, depending on how you want your character to evolve mentally, and you can either maintain your relationships with your family or watch them fall apart irreversibly. "I, the Forgotten One" will also present you with the grim realities of war and how it can impact one's mind. Despite all of this, your primary goal should be to find purpose and hope before you shatter to pieces for good.
