This game is intended for the first contact with game theory and its concepts using the example of a simple game with perfect information, without random components and initially without opponents.
It served as an internship example in the classes of the middle school Steingaden. The Agilogik GmbH has provided it with the technical framework of an app, an additional suggestion function of the game intelligence and a few graphic and musical upgrades.
We hope that this game will be extended by new participants in the coming years.
Rules and procedure:
The game Conquer-By-Click consists of a square box (here 5x5),
which is filled with random numbers.
The upper left field is colored in blue and thus represents the beginning of the game.
The goal is to color all fields blue with as few clicks as possible. If all fields are colored, the game is won. An additional goal is to use only the minimum number of moves required.
You can only color a field that is directly adjacent - not diagonally - to a colored field. You type the number of this field on a number key. Then this field and all fields adjacent to a colored field bearing the same number are also colored.
If a number is selected that does not appear in any field adjacent to a colored field, the game is lost.
It is built a game intelligence, which calculates all possible courses of the game and thus knows the moves that lead to the optimal solution. The number of moves of an optimal solution is always specified.
