The game starts with 15 tiles being given to the first player and 14 tiles to all other players.
If no one has opened a series before you, the total value of your series per tiles in your hand must be 51 or greater. But if someone has already opened a series, you can open your series with a value that is one more than the last player’s value.
To open in the double area, you must have at least 4 pairs of tiles. There are no rules for adding pairs like in opening a series area.
When it’s your turn, you can draw a tile from the left or the pile. But in 51 Okey, you should always draw your tile from the pile on the table.
Note that the sequence of tiles with the numbers 12, 13, and 1 in tiles of the same color is not counted as a series.
There is no showing of tiles in Okey. After all of the tiles in your hand form a series, you can place the remaining tile on the indicator to win the game. But in 51 Okey, you cannot place your tile on top of the indicator. When all of the tiles on the table have been drawn, the player who has the turn loses the game. It’s also possible to lose the game if you only have one tile left on your board.
You can open up your series tiles on the table if the sum of the numbers in your series tiles is greater than or equal to 51. Once you've made your first successful open to the table, you’ll be acknowledged as the player who opened the series in the game. If you’ve already opened one series on the table, you can open any suite of tiles from your board on the table without restrictions by following the conditions of the turn. But if someone else has already opened a series on the table, the sum of your series tiles must be higher than that player's opening value, and that difference should be at least one.
If you take a tile from the table and have at least 4 pairs of tiles on your board, you can open those tiles on the table. Once you open a series of your pairs on the table, you will be recognized as the player who opened the double area of the game. There is no rule for adding pairs more than the last player who opened pairs. You can always open the Double area with 4 pairs of tiles.
If you’ve already opened a series or pairs on the table and now it’s your turn, you can add a new tile to your series on the table, providing the resulting combination is consistent with the game’s rules.
You can never open a series with your board of single tiles in the Double area. But if you have a suite of tiles in your hand, you can open them in the Double area as you would in the Series area if that area has already been opened. If there is a pair of tiles in your hand, you can also open them in the Double area, but another player must have already opened the Double area before.
Note that scores and statistics are not updated instantly during the game.
