Just like in a tabletop RPG, the game master leads you through the story as you travel through a world that's entirely depicted through cards, including the field, town, and dungeon maps. Battles in the game are turn-based, and to succeed, you'll need to use gems, which are items required to unleash skills that are granted each turn. You can also change your fate by rolling the dice, which can lead you to deal extra damage or inflict status ailments on your enemies.

The game's story is set in a land where people previously lived in peace until a Dragon appeared, spreading terror throughout the kingdom. The kingdom fought valiantly and the Dragon was defeated, but grievously wounded, it fled. Many years later, the Dragon returned, and once again, the people are living in fear. The queen has called upon adventurers to slay the Dragon.

Voice of Cards features four separate adventures, including Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars Chapter 0, Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars, Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden, and Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden. Each of these adventures can be enjoyed individually, making it easy to choose the adventure that suits you the most.

This app can be purchased for a single fee, and once downloaded, the entire game can be played without purchasing any additional content. In-game cosmetic purchases, such as changes to the aesthetic of cards and pieces, or the BGM, are available but not necessary.
