As players continue to conquer new territories and lands, new features and content are added to the game, and more powers and bonuses are granted to their medieval armies. Fortifying the land and fighting with medieval defenses to ward off enemy invasions is critical. Building a powerful nation in an open world of warfare, with regional structures that the player and their many allies can benefit from, is crucial. Players can establish thriving Trade Centres, forge sacred Temples, and clash over Stockpiles of treasure.

To achieve their goals, players must choose a unique Champion, ranging from noble knights to merciless Vikings. Finding and crafting equipment to improve their Champion's skills is essential. Commanding heroes and adventurers to embark on quests for treasures is crucial for the path to the throne.

March of Empires has an alliance management system that makes it easy to manage the kingdom with different allies from all around the world. Players can chat with other players to forge friendships or verbally spar with rivals. All Policies are voted on by the entire Realm's player population, so every player can take part.
