Game overview
Maranhão Encantado consists of a 4×4 board, with items from Maranhão folklore - the so-called charms - that slide smoothly when the player moves them in one of the four available directions: up, down, left and right.
Each round, a new charm appears randomly in an empty place on the board, which can be the Enchanted Serpent or Ana Jansen, with the Serpent being the most common to appear.
The charms slide as far as possible in the chosen direction until they are stopped by any other charm or the edge of the board. If two of the same enchantments collide while moving, they will merge into a new enchantment, which is the next item in the catalogue. The resulting enchantment cannot merge with another piece again in the same turn, and if it is an unreleased enchantment, a window telling its story will appear.
Altogether there are 12 legends from the state of Maranhão and their stories. The player wins the game after unlocking all 12 enchantments in the catalog!
