In Nigeria, it is strictly prohibited by law to block off streets to hold parties. Despite this legal restriction, young individuals and party enthusiasts continue to disobey the law and hold these events, which often lead to severe traffic congestion in and around the city of Lagos. In response to this growing issue, the Nigerian police have implemented more intensive measures in order to eliminate this unlawful behavior. Law enforcement officials have been stationed in key locations throughout the city, in order to pursue and apprehend those responsible for the illegal street closings.
