Game overview
Help the Little Kettor work by solving yummy math problems.
There is a big problem in the kitchen of the Little Kettle. The ingredients are mixed up so you don’t know how much of it is needed to make a delicious menu. He is waiting for the help of little mathematicians to measure, compare, do-take and practice the basics of mathematics together. Cook up!
PARENTS
In this application of the Dexterity skill game series, the child is called in by the Little Kettle, who is looking for the answer to problems in his kitchen, such as the equal distribution of the soup.
How will the contents of the two pots be equal? What should the Little Kettle do?
The small player can choose from several solutions:
- increase,
reduce the amount of soup, or
- you can transfer units from one pot to another.
The Little Kettle also needs help when ingredients are weighed. Where does the balance tongue move? How will the two quantities be equal? Which is more, which is less? After selecting the relational signal, we get immediate feedback: the Little Potter is wondering or cheering, and if the right solution is chosen, the player will be one star richer.
In the spirit of error-free learning, there is no negative feedback during the game, so there is no unnecessary frustration, as the child can try until he finds the right solution.
PEDAGOGICAL METHODOLOGY
Tasks of the game:
• comparison of objects, units, use of relational signs,
• comparison of items on the balance sheet,
• equality, increase, decrease.
We especially recommend it to confirm the concept of quantity. It can be useful for dyscalculia.
Key development areas:
• quantitative comparison
• spatial orientation
• math skills
• visual attention
