Game overview
Jotto is a word game played between two people, or in this case, between you and the app.
The winner is the first player to guess their opponent's word, which they have chosen before the start of the game.
Jotto uses five-letter words, with no repeating letter and there are plenty to choose from. In fact, the app contains over 5,800 words, based on official lists used in word games such as Scrabble.
When you’re trying to guess the app's word simply scroll through the word lists and select, there’s no need to type the words in! Once you've completed your turn, switch tabs to score the app's attempt, before switching back for your next attempt.
A typical attempt would be as follows. Say my ‘secret’ word is 'dives' and you guess 'resin' the app would return a score of 3, as e, s, and i match. Obviously, initially a good score is zero, as you know for certain those letters can be discounted.
