Galactigun is an electrifying rhythm game where you save the galaxy from the clutches of the maniacal alien DJ Kranius and his bass-thumping tunes. The game is a unique blend of music and space shooter genres that requires you to tap along with the beat to obliterate your enemies. The levels are meticulously crafted to ensure that timing is spot on and all the challenging aspects ensure that only the most experienced pilots can emerge victorious. You'll receive power-ups that can augment your firepower, shields, armor, and XP boost, so that you can go up against even the strongest of foes. Galactigun has an impressive soundtrack that features an eclectic mix of EDM and Heavy Metal songs. The game is easy to pick up but difficult to master, making it accessible to everyone. The ship mechanic Howie helps you configure your BB-X1 to ensure that your timing is accurate. Tap the enemies to the rhythm of the song; you can destroy enemies only when they are in the tap zone, which appears as a glowing line at the bottom of the screen. There are two types of enemies in the game; enemy ships and space mines. Enemy ships get destroyed when tapped while for space mines, you must touch and hold them for the length of their tail. Release them accurately at the end of the tail for extra points. The more precise you are, the more points you get per hit. When you destroy an enemy with perfect timing, you collect a music note. These notes are converted into coins which can be used to purchase power-ups from the in-game shop. Galactigun offers three types of power-ups, namely shields, armor, and XP boost. Shields protect your combo, and if you have a shield, your combo meter is over 25, it will activate, and if you miss an enemy, your combo will still be protected. Armor, on the other hand, saves your life one time, so if you miss an enemy, you won't lose a heart. Finally, the XP boost multiplies the earned XP during a play session, which greatly boosts your score.
