The current time will be used to find the amount of seconds since the app was first opened.
You can leave your phone off for a week and come back to find you have gained a substantial amount of seconds. An info box at the bottom tells you how close you would be to stars if you traveled at the speed of light for the amount of seconds shown on the counter.
