Classic offline chess game Chess is one of the oldest strategy games in the world.

Chess is an excellent board logic game that develops skills such as tactics, strategy and visual memory.



Knowing the pieces on the board:



- The pawn moves forward one square or two squares on the first move. The attack takes place diagonally forward.

- The king moves from house to house, and can be vertically, horizontally or diagonally.

- The queen moves any distance vertically, horizontally or diagonally.

- The turret moves to any distance vertically or horizontally.

- The knight moves in an L-shape, being two squares vertically and one horizontally or one square vertically and two horizontally.

- The bishop moves any distance diagonally.



Important chess situations:



- Check - the situation in chess where a king is under immediate attack by the opponent's pieces

- Checkmate - the situation in chess where the current player is in control and has no legal move to escape check.

- Drowned King - the situation in chess where the current player has no legal move and is not in check. (to draw)



The object of the game is to checkmate the other king.



Two special moves in chess:



- Castling is the double move performed by the king and the rook, which never moved.

- 'En passant' is a move in which a pawn can take the pawn of an opponent who has jumped two squares on his first move.
