Travel through five grim levels of undead terror, each with a unique monstrous boss to conquer. You have the power to morph into different apex predators such as a dragon, wolf, bear, and tiger. Every beast has its own unique attack moves to unleash upon your formidable opponents. Enhance your strength and attack power by collecting mystical power orbs scattered throughout hell.

You can impersonate a bear, a dragon, a tiger, and a wolf with your mystical power orbs, slicing, tearing, and tearing enemies in your way. The arcade game originated in 1988 and was a pack-in title for Genesis in North America. Altered Beast was officially transferred to NEC's PC Engine and CD-ROM² systems. Interesting trivia includes that the arcade game's ending implies that it was only a play and that the demons were actually actors in costume.
