Explore a reconstruction of monuments at Morgantina in VR with Google Cardboard or AR with Google Cardboard and your phone's GPS where only the foundations of the second largest agora in the Hellenistic world (after Athens) are visible.
With MorgantinaVR, you can explore and walk through buildings that have been lost for over 1900 years.
The reconstructions were researched and adapted from models provided by James Huemoeller for all primary monuments except for the West Stoa. The West Stoa is the least accurate of the reconstruction models currently because the upper level would likely have been shorter than the lower and the West Stoa was never completed after Roman occupation following Caesar gifting Morgantina to Spanish mercenaries in 211 BCE.
The video included above features screenrecordings from a Project Tango development kit tablet. The Project Tango build with precise motion tracking is still forthcoming.
