Game overview
Fly to Earth and play golf in post-apocalyptic ruins with the award-winning game Golf Club: Wasteland. Featuring a unique concept album.
Following the Great Ecological disaster, the affluent migrated to Tesla City on Mars, leaving the remaining populace on Earth to perish. Now, the inhabitants of Mars travel to Earth to play golf among the ruins of the once-thriving civilization. However, one of the Mars mission pilots feels out of place among the new Martian community and decides to take one final solo journey to Earth, utilizing his Golf Club: Wasteland connections.
The original soundtrack, Radio Nostalgia from Mars, is now accessible on Apple Music. Citizens of Mars reminisce about Earth by listening to tunes from the 2020s and sharing their recollections from their previous Earthly existence. This soundtrack features seven original songs and five personal narratives from Mars citizens.
The award-winning Golf Club: Wasteland provides a slow-paced, atmospheric visual narrative, including walking, jet-pack flying, and golfing in post-apocalyptic landscapes. Apple praised the game, saying, “Mixed with an eerie atmosphere and some of the best tunes we’ve heard in iOS gaming, this makes for a beautiful experience of loneliness.” Similarly, Metro applauded the game's visual and auditory components, describing it as "beautiful and elegiac." Meanwhile, Touch Arcade hailed the game as a rare gem that combines modern societal reflection with the excitement of clearing giant irradiated giraffes. Yahoo Finance even suggested that this game serves as a starting point for a new genre.
Golf Club: Wasteland boasts a visually and sonically rich, comfortable and humorous experience, with each stage featuring post-apocalyptic settings and decimated brutalist landmarks, neons alluding to present social difficulties and Silicon Valley, graffiti, alternative routes, and an unexpected character. Additionally, the music component, Radio Nostalgia from Mars, is a unique concept album that the Pilot listens to while revisiting Earth. The game employs three storytelling approaches, including text between levels, the Pilot's diary, and personal narratives on the radio program. Finally, Golf Club: Wasteland features references scattered throughout the game world, making it suitable for individuals who enjoy current affairs, appreciate lovely designs, and possess a healthy skepticism toward our possible future.
