Jesenice - 1916 to 1917

The evolution of factories for the needs of the community and relationship with people came from different border. Live the radical change in the city of Jesenice through the eyes of Marija Golob, a farmer who fled the fields.



Bitola - 1917-1918

The reality lived by doctors beyond the trenches and the desperate rescue of the injured. Spread hope alongside Guillaume, a young soldier in the French colonial troops.



Austria - 1918 to 1919

Theme of the pandemic and the impotence of the human being in a parallelism with the current period. Fight against time with Corina Stengheli, a nurse on duty during the Spanish flu epidemic.





Differently from other wargames, The Rude Awakening retraces the historical events from a completely new perspective: from the claustrophobic situations inside the forts, to the devastated everyday life of small towns near the front, to the collapse of the hospitals caused by the Spanish flu pandemic.

The collaboration with 9 European partners gave the creative team the opportunity to draw on historic materials belonging to different museums in 4 different countries, inaccessible elsewhere.
